NEVER use these 11 words in Business

If I tell you NOT to think of a pink elephant… what image instantly comes to mind?

Yep, a pink elephant.

Two things you need to understand about this.

One, is that the mind thinks in pictures.

Every word you use when talking to OR writing to others, conjures up a certain image in their mind.

And these images evoke certain feelings and emotions in people. (Remember yesterday’s post about emotion vs. logic?)

The other thing is, you CAN’T tell someone NOT to imagine something (i.e. a pink elephant)

If I tell you not to worry, what image/feeling gets tapped into?

When communicating with others, you’ve got to be EXTRA careful NOT to use words that can bring up negative images and emotions that will interfere with what you’re trying to do, and often cause the person to do the opposite.

It’s called talking your prospect OUT of the sale.

And we do it all the time…

… UNLESS We Know The Secret!

Which is to avoid fear producing words.

Here’s a short list of 11 words YOU NEVER want to use in sales…

As you read them, pay attention to the images and the emotions you’re experiencing.

1. Cost or Price vs. Total Amount or Total Investment
2. Monthly Payment vs. Monthly Amount
3. Contract vs. Paperwork or Agreement
4. Buy vs. Own
5. Sell or Sold vs. Get involved
6. Deal vs. Opportunity

When you read or hear monthly payment, doesn’t that get you all excited – “oh great I’ll have another monthly payment…”

How To Make Money Blogging Without Google Adsense…

O.K., I have to say it:

“Google Adsense blows chunks.”

Now, maybe I offended a few people here but there’s definitely easier ways to make coffee change online.

None of these ways involve Google Adsense which is basically ancient history…

But why am I putting down Google Adsense specifically?

Simply because Google Adsense takes up valuable advertising space on your websites you could use for high ticket affiliate products or even “baby” affiliate products like Yanik’s Instant Sales Letters that have a great conversion rate.

By the way, I highly recommend you get Yanik’s product even if you just use it to make some money on your blog. It only takes a few sales to pay for itself and it’s totally one of the easiest ways to get started with copywriting.

But enough self promotion, we’re talking about making you money.

And Google Adsense is not the way to go…

But don’t confuse Google Adsense with Google Adwords which is a “crazy good” way to make money if you can avoid the Google “Slap”, “Bodyslam” or “Pedigree”. Yeah, how can you tell I had the TV on last night? Gosh…

Anyhow, I bet you would like to make a little more money while you’re getting your business up and running. And maybe you’re wondering how to do that.

Honestly, I can’t think of an easier way to make money online than to get into affiliate marketing. At least, in a small way.

You might already be an affiliate and not even know it.

Because almost every product you buy online has a program where they reward you for selling their products by giving you a small commission. Some products only payout a couple of bucks. Other products payout as much as 70% of the selling price. Although, that’s the exception not the rule.

But most people go about it the wrong way.

They post flashing banners on their websites. They write crazy reviews for products they don’t use or believe in. They spam people with links.

Those are all good ways to make people hate you…

But it doesn’t have to be that way.

Especially when you think about how many products you buy every year.

You could be writing, recording, or filming short reviews. You could be sharing the products you love with your list. You could even use affiliate products to make more money while you’re learning Pay-Per-Click, Copywriting, Or Search Engine Optimization.

Imagine getting paid to learn

It’s not hard to write a short product review today, post it on your blog, and send a quick note to your list. In 30 minutes you could make your first affiliate commission online.

That means no posting of inappropriate information, your company’s confidential information, foul mouthing people or your employers, linking to questionable sources, plagiarizing from other sources, peddling illegal stuff, etc. What you post on your website must be eligible personal information, shareable stuff and publicly available information that are freely available from other sources.

5. Finally getting a website 99% feel that it it’s a complicated, expensive or frightening business. It is possible to get a simple website for as low as a hundred dollars. With latest technology tools it is possible for you to create a decent website within hours or days. And contrary to what most people think your website need not be a super duper or glamorous one.
