Blogging for Success: To blog or not to blog, is no more the question!

Blogging for Success: To blog or not to blog, is no more the question!

Most of the business owners today have heard the buzz or read information on blogging. The fact is that blogging is easy and can be a very cost-effective way to drum up the interest in your home business or your organization and get traffic to your business or its website. Blogging can also be a way to start a home business by itself. So if you haven’t yet taken the plunge here are few quick tips…

When blogging first became widely known, blogs were used mostly for personal use to express and share ones experience. But now there is much more to blogging. The blogging world has evolved, and business owners, especially those in the MLM (Multi-level Marketing) industry, have found it very successful.

Blogs can fall into two general categories:

Personal Blogs: a mixture of a personal diary, opinion posts and research links.

Business Blogs: a corporate tool for communicating with customers or employees to share knowledge and expertise.

Business blogs are sweeping the business community. They are an excellent method to share a company’s expertise, build additional web traffic, and connect with existing & potential customers. Blogging is a great way to build your presence online.

Blogging for Business:

Blog marketing is the process of reaching a business’ prospects through the use of a blog. These efforts may be conducted for the primary purpose of promoting the company’s website or they may comprise the only online presence and be used for direct promotion of a small business.

Blog marketing may also help improve a website’s rankings in search results and is often used for search engine optimization (SEO) purposes. Blogs can be relatively inexpensive and highly effective marketing tools.

Benefits:

  • Blogs are very Easy to Create
  • Blogs are Ranked High on Search Engines like Google
  • Blogs are Inexpensive to Set Up and Maintain
  • They are Ideal for creating a community and building relationships with Prospects, Customers and Business Partners
  • Blogs are well suited for Niches (small markets)
  • You can (passively) promote your products and services
  • A business blog gives you platform to share your expertise

How to Monetize Your Blog:

Create solid content- Keep the content of the blog relevant and topic-driven and regularly update the blog. Make sure you have key elements such as your profile and contact information in place.

Consider search engine optimization- When you’re developing the information and titles for the posts, focus on the relevant keywords. Try and work on them to naturally include in the content.

Build Backlinks- Build links to your site to drive traffic and to increase your search engine rankings. You can also seek out links from other blogs, post comments on other blogs and forums that contain links pointing to your blog (where permitted), or consider placing a paid ad on a related blog or website.

Advertising programs- This is the most common means of leveraging a blog. If your blog happens to be a well-known blog, or one that is well-received in a particular niche; it’s always possible to sell ad space on your own. For lesser-known blogs, services such as Google’s AdSense or BlogAds enable bloggers to establish ad programs. AdSense’s — which lets you select several ads that are consistent with the content of your blog — pays you based on how many readers click on the ads.

As time rolls on there are more and more ways that bloggers can make money from their blogs. It doesn’t matter whether you are an expert entrepreneur of outstanding organization or an owner of a small home business; blogs are a phenomenon that you cannot ignore.

Blogging provides a means to connect and get acquainted with you readers, customers & prospects. It allows them to view you as accessible and can build credibility and also allows you to hear first-hand what your customers and prospects really want.

Getting started with blog marketing does not necessarily require a big investment of time or money. Even the most simplistic of free programs can work wonders to help drive interest and traffic.
